This company is highly regarded within the industry for their innovative approach to technical excellence.Key responsibilities include:* Oversee the mechanical engineering department* Ensure adequate staffing for the department* Mentor and train staff* Conduct performance reviews* Ensure that processes within the department are standardized and utilize resources efficiently* Ensure that communication between offices runs smoothly* Assist members of your staff with engineering issues, using your technical expertise to solve complex problems* Review and approve documents* Complete annual budgets for the department* Participate in business development initiatives* Build and maintain client relationships* Be an active participant in the mechanical engineering community* Participate in strategic planning initiatives* Review the organization's structure and functioning for areas of potential improvementQualifications:* A degree in mechanical engineering* Professional engineering (P.Eng) designation* 15+ years of experience in an engineering role (preferably with leadership responsibilities)* Understanding of LEED technology* Understanding of industry standards and legislation* Ability to effectively build and lead a team* Good communication skills, written and verbal* Highly organized and motivated* Public relations skills* A strong network of connections within the mechanical engineering communityOur client's organization offers their staff members a competitive compensation package, including excellent opportunities for advancement within the organization.Interested?
